The 488 GTB was first introduced to the American Market as a 2016 model as an update to the critically acclaimed 458 Italia. The 488 GTB comes equipped with a 3.9 liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 661 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque which is 99 more hp and 163 lb-ft of torque than the previous generation 458 Italia. 0-62 mph takes just 3 seconds, 0 to 124 mph takes only 8.3 seconds (which is .8 seconds quicker than a 458 Speciale), and top speed is an electrifying 205 mph. The last time Ferrari offered a twin-turbo V8 Engine in a mid-rear-engine layout was in the legendary F-40! The 488 GTB is faster, sharper and better in nearly every measurable way over its predecessor the 458. It uses an updated version of the dual-clutch 7-speed transmission that was standard on the 458 Italia and shift times are now up to 40% quicker. There is increased downforce due to a redesigned front and rear diffuser as well as other exterior modifications, and curb weight is down too. Top Gear magazine awarded the 488 GTB Car of the Year and Motor Trend proclaimed it to be the "Best Driver's Car".
