The 488 GTB was first introduced to the American Market as a 2016 model as an update to the critically acclaimed 458 Italia. The 488 GTB comes equipped with a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 661 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque, which is 99 more horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque than the previous generation 458 Italia. 0-62 mph takes just 3 seconds, 0 to 124 mph takes only 8.3 seconds (which is .8 seconds quicker than a 458 Speciale), and top speed is an electrifying 205 mph. The last time Ferrari offered a twin-turbo V8 Engine in a mid-rear-engine layout was in the legendary F-40! The 488 GTB is faster, sharper, and better in nearly every measurable way over its predecessor the 458. It uses an updated version of the dual-clutch 7-speed transmission that was standard on the 458 Italia and shift times are now up to 40% quicker. There is increased downforce due to a redesigned front and rear diffuser as well as other exterior modifications, and curb weight is down too.
